Rawhide is a hide that has not been soft tanned. The natural glues in the skin create a hard material. Rawhide has the hair removed and all meat and fat scraped off. Our rawhides are bleached to a beautiful golden creamy color. So.......... what do you do with rawhides? Drum heads are made with rawhide, rawhide braiding, lampshades, rawhide baskets (see ours under buffalo products), and many other ideas. We cover table tops with cow and buffalo rawhide to create a wonderful longlasting surface. Hides are grades as to holes or cuts, size and color. To learn about working with rawhide follow our Working with rawhide link. |
